The fuel pump pushrod inserts through the hole below the main pump mounting passage.
The phenolic spacer requires a thin film of RTV on both sides.
Rubber sealing washers are placed over the pushrod base. Race Pumps notes that you can use only the number required for a good seal (1, 2 or all 3).

The design of the Race Pumps unit works similar to a master cylinder. One piston draws fuel in while the other pushes fuel out.
Our pump came equipped with a -10 AN fitting at the inlet and a -8 outlet. I switched the -10 fitting out for another -8 fitting. Always use an aluminum -AN wrench whenever servicing aluminum fittings or hose ends.
Our fuel pump installed and ready to go.
This pump design provides superior performance (with no diaphragm to worry about) and saves space.
