HIGH-TEMP EXHAUST VALVE COATING

Bekaert teams up with Xceldyne Technologies to develop the Cavidur®HT exhaust valve coating

Collaborating with customers is an important part of our business model. With technical support from Xceldyne Technologies, a leading manufacturer of titanium valves, we have developed Cavidur®HT, a DLC exhaust valve coating for use in racing applications.

This innovative new solution provides race teams with a high-level friction and wear-resistant coating for exhaust valves. It is a competitive alternative to existing CrN coatings, and addresses wear issues that result from using unleaded fuel in NASCAR.

The partnership has proved to be a great success, with Xceldyne praising our highly responsive way of working and prompt delivery.

“The Cavidur®HT coating is resistant to the high temperatures exhaust valves are often exposed to,” says Joe Rogers, Valvetrain Engineering Staff member at Xceldyne USA. “We trust Bekaert’s Cavidur® DLC coatings to deliver superior performance in racing environments when applied to Xceldyne valvetrain components. Bekaert has earned this trust because of its meticulous focus on coating process control and stability.”

I’m sure this is going to change the way people race. With not having to worry about your car as much, things will go much smoother and people will have a better time. I’m sure the cops won’t like this too much though :p
