Wanna boost performance and practicality of the ol’ Rocket engines while maintaining full original bolt-on convenience? Ross Racing Engines of Niles, Ohio has released their new Lacy & Morse aluminum cylinder heads for the oh-so-loved 1949-64 Oldsmobile V8 applications, including 303, 324, 371 and 394 CID first-generation Rocket engines.

In addition to shaving a whopping 70 pounds (as compared to a pair of original iron anchors), the American-made performance heads provide the vintage Olds owner with far superior airflow and horsepower in a ready-to-install package.
Standard features include premium stainless steel 2.020” intake and 1.600” exhaust valves, hardened valve seats, bronze guides, valve springs, 10-degree locks and retainers and raised valve cover rails to accommodate aftermarket roller rockers. Springs are suited for individual camshaft requirements. The heads will accept up to a 1.550” diameter spring.
Ports are gasket-matched and bowls are blended. Intake port airflow has been optimized. A full divider between the center exhaust ports is an enhanced feature of the new design, with heat riser filled.
Intake ports measure 1.295” wide x 2.035” high. The front and rear exhaust ports measure 1.275” wide x 1.240” high and the center two exhaust ports measure 1.075” wide x 1.475” high. Spark plug ports accommodate modern ¾”-reach spark plugs.
Unlike the OE heads, these heads are drilled and tapped at each end to readily accept accessory mounts.

The new Olds Rocket aluminum cylinder heads are shipped fully assembled and offer a direct bolt-on installation. Available combustion chamber volumes range from a maximum of 80 cc to a minimum of 65 cc. Precision-fit MLS head gaskets are also available direct from Ross Racing Engines.
