Edelbrock has released two new Flathead Ford cylinder heads. P/N 1116 is designed with a raised roof combustion chamber for 1949-53 8BA engines, CNC-machined 74 cc chamber volume (for reduced compression for supercharged applications or for those who wish to run low octane fuel in naturally aspirated engines).
P/N 1126 was designed with nostalgia in mind, featuring the block letter logo option on 24-stud 1938-48 applications, designed with 64 cc chambers for naturally-aspirated performance engines. Cast in Edelbrock’s ultra-modern aluminum foundry, these heads are made from prime A356 aluminum. An optional polished finish is also available. All Flathead cylinder heads are sold in pairs.

ONE MEAN BUNNY
The craving for “old” muscle car sound is back and Comp Cams is ready to satisfy the need with its Thumpr series of rumpety-bump sticks. Even the mildest Thumpr cam profile produces improved horsepower and torque, along with the tasty Friday-night-at-the-drive-in chop that we all love. Basically, these are sticks that sound vintage but take full advantage of today’s valve control technology. Another factor on the cool list is that these cams are available in both retro-fit hydraulic roller and flat tappet designs for carbureted small- and big-block Chevy and Ford 351 Windsor, and small-block Chrysler engines (as well as small-block Chevy hydraulic roller blocks). Early intake valve opening and long exhaust duration create optimum overlap for a powerful, hard-hitting exhaust note. Slap one of these bunnies in, order a Cherry Coke and fries, and giggle with delight.

DEMON 98 CARB FOR VINTAGE-ENGINE HOT RODS
Check out the new Demon 98 carb. A way-cool retro styled 2-BBL that kicks butt.
Two models of the 98 are now available: a primary and a secondary. They differ in several ways; chiefly, the secondary model has no choke mounting, idle-mixing adjustment or power valve. Rated around 205 cfm (per unit), these three-bolt beauties are direct replacements for the Stromberg 97, adapting to most vintage engines, including the Buick Nail Head, Oldsmobile, Chrysler Hemi, Ford Y-Block, Cadillac and Pontiac.
Pictures simply don’t do this carb justice. It’ll strike any nostalgia-minded customer as the real deal. Old-school appearance with hi-tech innards. Way cool.

RETRO SCALLOPED COVERS
Building a customer’s ol’ 409 but the valve covers are missing or junk and the customer’s freaking out? Not to worry. Edelbrock now offers truly authentic 348/409 classic series scalloped valve covers. The hi-po parts maker has re-released these famous rocker covers, manufactured from high-quality sand-cast aluminum. The finned covers are now offered in either a traditional polish or in a very sweet black krinkle coating (but the fins and logo are machined for contrast). Reassure the customer that his mill will once again look oh-so-fine.

COVER ME RETRO
It’s funny how some things seem revolutionary when first introduced, eventually fall out of favor as “too old school” and then zoom back onto the scene because of popular demand. Such is the case with Edelbrock’s Classic Series valve covers. The cast aluminum, finned covers (now available in either polished or black finish) have been reintroduced, featuring the classic Edelbrock script logo. Applications include small- and big-block Chevy, of course, along with 348/409 W-series Chevy, AMC/Jeep, Ford 221-351W, Ford FE big blocks and Pontiac fitments.
